You’re Not Alone: Why Women’s Mental Health Deserves More Space and Compassion
If you’ve ever felt like you’re supposed to “hold it all together” while quietly struggling inside — you’re not alone.
As a therapist specializing in women’s mental health, eating disorders, and the transitions of motherhood, I’ve seen how many women carry emotional burdens that rarely get the space or support they deserve.
Whether you’re:
battling body image concerns,
navigating a complicated relationship with food,
feeling the weight of mom guilt,
or overwhelmed by the mental load of everyday life...
Your experience is valid. And it matters.
Why don’t more moms talk about their struggles?
While the stigma around mental health has decreased, many women - especially moms - still free pressured to act as though they’re “fine” when they’re not. We live in a society that glorifies the idea of the Supermom - someone who can juggle it all without breaking a sweat: sleepless nights, demanding work, childcare, meal prep (and the list goes on and on). Women are praised for how much they can push thropushing through the exhaustion and ignoring their own needs.
What will I find through this blog?
I never imagined myself being a writer. I dreamt of numerous careers and jobs, and thankfully I landed in one that I love and feel passionate about. But as I look around at the silent struggles we face, session after session sitting with women who feel like they can’t share their challenges because they feel like they shouldn’t or can’t complain … I see the power in the shared experience. Knowing you’re not alone. Knowing that life is hard.
